Police appeal after distraction thefts at Perthshire food stores
Police are appealing for information following distraction thefts at Perthshire food stores.
Officers describe the crime as ‘ringing the changes’ and it took place on May 27 around 5.15pm when a male asked to change denominations of bank notes at the Spar, Percy Street, Stanley.
During the incident he distracted the cashier whilst he stole a quantity of money. Police state a similar incident occurred at Tesco in Crieff Road, Perth, on May 25.
Elsewhere, vandals targeted Balvaird Castle, Abernethy, by damaging 12 window panes between May 15 and 24. Then an attempt was made to break into the premises between May 24 and 30.
Meanwhile, the roof of a building was damaged after items were thrown on Ringlink (Scotland) Ltd, Meadowside Park, Coupar Angus, between April 23 and May 24.
Police are also appealing for information after Guthrie & Robertson, Pittenzie Road, Crieff, was targeted by vandals between May 24 and 26. During this time vehicles were damaged in the yard.
Thieves broke into Fordie Lodge, Comrie, between May 21 and 24. Thieves also targeted Comrie Primary School by breaking into it between May 19 and 24.
Information is also wanted following a crow snare being damaged on the Invergeldie Estate in Comrie between May 13 and 14.
And officers are also trying to track down thieves who stole a Rollator mobility aid from a garden in Muirton Bank, Perth, between noon and 8pm on May 28. Anyone with information on any of these crimes should phone the police on 101 or contact Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
