-

Coupar Angus is gearing up for its latest cycling festival. The event, in its fourth year, starts on Saturday and runs until June 18.

Organised by the Coupar Angus Cycling Hub, the festival begins on Saturday with a day of races, stunts and side attractions at Larghan Park. There will also be specialist coaching for the Ballo Enduro Bike Race.

Food and games are also lined up.

The festival continues on Sunday with an Enduro to test the most experienced of mountain bikers. Spectators can watch races at the park, on Lundie Crags and in Ballo forest.

The fun continues on Monday evening with cyclo-cross races on the north side of Coupar Angus.

Events planned for the rest of the week include mountain biking rideouts on Tuesday evening and a cycling sports day for local primary schools on the Wednesday.

Festival favourite Cycle for Cake – a 20-mile ride to a Perthshire cake shop – will be held on the Friday morning, while the Big Sunday Cycle brings the event to a close.

Riders are asked to gather at the Cross in Coupar Angus centre at 9am on the Sunday for the 40-mile challenge.

A shorter 25-mile route begins at 10am and a 10-mile circuit at 11am.
