LUNCARTY: Plans for a housing development at Luncarty south will be discussed at a special meeting organised by Luncarty Community Council tonight at 7.30 in the church centre. Members of the community are invited to attend the meeting. BURRELTON: The 8th Burrelton Market on the Green will be held on Saturday August 12 from 2 to 5pm. Attractions will include local crafts and produce, a barbecue, home-baking and games. A few pitches are still available from £15, anyone interested should email villagehall@burrelton.com or call 07850 448511/01828 670292. COMMUNITY COUNCIL: Earn Community Council will meet on Monday at 7pm in Forteviot Village Hall. The agenda is available to view on the group’s Facebook page. FOLK CLUB: Australian band Cloudstreet are making a return visit to Glenfarg Folk Club at Backstage at the Green Hotel, Kinross, on Monday. Doors open 7.30pm, music starts 8pm. BRANKLYN: With the passing of the summer solstice, the collection of lilies at the National Trust for Scotland’s Branklyn Garden in Perth is entering its prime.
Among the displays is a national collection of the famous North Lilies, bred by the late Dr Chris North. The garden opens daily from 10am to 5pm, free to NTS members and £6.50 to non-members, £5 concession. KINROSS: Kinross Primary has gained national Digital School status for excellence in digital technology in teaching and learning, the first school in Perth and Kinross to gain this award.
