Dundee-based Insights Group has bought over a Scottish digital technology firm in a multi-million-pound deal.

Group chief executive Andy Lothian said the acquisition of DOGFI.SH Mobile of Stirling was an important step on Insights Group’s growth journey.

“Insights has seen excellent growth over the last few years, achieving around 30% growth in group revenue in 2016-17,” Mr Lothian said.

“This acquisition comes at really important time as we seek to create a sustainable and scalable global organisation that can continue to grow for many years to come.

“DOGFI.SH has been an important strategic technology partner for Insights Learning and Development (ILD) for over five years.

“By bringing this business within the Insights Group, it reduces risk and establishes a vital source of technology expertise. It also demonstrates our commitment to put technology at the heart of our offering to customers all around the globe.

“It brings additional talent, skills and knowledge into the Insights Group that will complement the existing technology team within ILD, and offers new career opportunities for people in both businesses.”

DOGFI.SH will sit alongside ILD within the Insights Group umbrella but will continue to operate independently under its own brand name.

The firm – whose roster of high-profile clients include IKEA, Legoland, the London Eye, Thomson and First Choice – was co-founded by Ross Tuffee and brother-in-law Paul Burrowes, both of whom are remaining with the company post-acquisition.

ILD chief technology officer Greig Johnston is transitioning over to become new DOGFI.SH Mobile CEO.

Mr Tuffee said he was delighted DOGFI.SH had found a new home.

“Both Paul and I are very excited to be joining the Insights Group and about the opportunity that this creates for Insights, DOGFI.SH, our respective customers and our people,” he said.

“We are very proud of our team at DOGFI.SH and of the solutions and value that they deliver to our existing customers, including Insights.

“We are very much looking forward to working with Andy, Greig and the wider Insights organisation as we continue our journey.”
