Man’s body found after search by police using helicopter
A body has been discovered following a search near Abernethy.
Police were responding to reports of a missing 60-year-old in the area when the discovery was made at around 6am yesterday.
There are no suspicious circumstances and it is understood the death may be related to medical issues.
A spokesman for Police Scotland said: “We can confirm that we were called to the Abernethy area around 11.30pm after concern was raised for a 60-year-old man who was reported missing.
“After an extensive search of the area, including the use of a police helicopter, the body of a man was traced at around 6am.
“There are no suspicious circumstances. As with all sudden deaths, a report is to be sent to the procurator fiscal.”
