Hope that missing man’s bruised eye may jog memories

-

Police yesterday continued the search for an Angus man who has disappeared.

Graeme Leslie, 62, who is known to frequent pubs in Montrose and Dundee, is the subject of a major operation by police and the RNLI.

Mr Leslie was last spoken to by his family in Dundee on Friday July 14 and police are yet to confirm his whereabouts despite several sightings. Neighbours reported a possible sighting of him at his home in Scotston Place in St Cyrus on Monday July 17 but he has not been seen since.

Following assistance from the public, police said there have been potential sightings of Mr Leslie in Montrose High Street on both Tuesday and Wednesday.

In addition, it is understood he fell in the days leading up to him being reported missing whereby he sustained injuries to his face.

Inspector Megan Heathershaw, who is leading the search, said: “Mr Leslie had an accident prior to being reported missing by his family which resulted in him sustaining a bruise to one of his eyes.

“Given the severity of the injury he will still look bruised, which I hope might jog someone’s memory if they think they might have seen a man matching his description but not quite sure if it was him.”

Mr Leslie, below, and his new bride were infamously arrested three hours after they tied the knot on September 12 last year following a heated row.

He is described as being white, around 5ft 1in, of a stocky build, wears glasses and has a tattoo on his right forearm.

It is not known what he might be wearing.
