Caledonian Marts Ltd sold 2,074 prime lambs, ewes and tups. Prime lambs (1,218) ave 177.3ppkg (-34.2ppk on the week) (+0.3p on the year). All classes of lambs followed the national trend being easier on the week. Top price of the day went to Easter Ochtermuthill, Muthill, for a 52 kilo Beltex Lamb at £100. Top price per kilo went to Meikle Seggie, Milnathort, for a pen of four Beltex X lambs 44 kilos at 214ppkg. Leading prices: Lambs – Texel £98 Drimsynie; TexelX £94 The Moor; Beltex £94 Pett; Beltex X £94 Meikle Seggie; Suff X £92 Ninewells and Wairds of Alpity; Cont £90 Bankhead and Balcachie. Also forward were 858 cast ewes, tups and wedders. Heavy ewes (194) ave £85.79 selling to a top price of £128 for a pen of Texels from Drimsynie Estate, Lochgoilhead. Export ewes (591) ave £47.10.

Caledonian Marts Ltd sold 546 store cattle to include seven young bulls. Beef bred bullocks ave 229ppkg selling to 275ppkg for Sim X’s from Langholmand to £1,230 for Charolais from East Kerse. Heifers ave 220ppkg selling to 298ppkg for Limousins from Craigievern and to £1,230 for a Limousin from Holm Park. Black and white bullocks ave 174ppkg selling to 200ppkg from Holm Park and to £1,060 for the same animals. Young bulls ave 140ppkg (mainly black and whites) selling to 220ppkg from Westhills and to £1,000 for a Hereford from Whitehill Kennels.
