Tayport lose way after taking early lead

-

TAYPORT’s new management team of Charlie King and Daryn Smith would have been delighted with their side’s 2-0 lead after 40 minutes, but at 90 minutes were left asking what happened as their charges went down 6-2 at Musselburgh.

Dale Reid gave Tayport the lead after five minutes and Conor Ireland doubled the advantage on 40 minutes, then it all started to go wrong.

Blackburn United showed they will be a force after they came from behind to beat DOWNFIELD 4-1 at home. Ryan Rigden scored for the Dundee side.

GLENROTHES led at Dunbar United then had to come from 3-1 down to secure a point in stoppage time. Craig Wallace put the Fife side in front. James Leslie (72 minutes) and Gavin Gray (93 minutes) were their other scorers.

KIRRIEMUIR THISTLE lost 2-1 at home to Whitburn despite taking a firstminute lead through Sean McVicar. A penalty and own goal did the damage.

THORNTON HIBS and Arniston Rangers shared the goals and the points in a 1-1 draw at Memorial Park. Jack Fairgrieve put the visitors in front on 77 minutes but Adam Drummond equalised almost straight away. Keepers Dale Cornet for Arniston and Ryan Linton for Hibs were in top form. Craig Morrison took his threadbare ST ANDREWS UNITED to one of the promotion favourites, Tranent. Saints went down 3-2 despite an Anesu Sweeney brace.
