COUNTRY DANCING Perth Scottish Country Dance Club’s winter season opens on September 12 with a dance at the Kinnoull Church Hall, Dundee Road.
Music comes courtesy of Nicol McLaren.
The club meets each Tuesday evening, between 7.15pm and 9.30pm, and new members are welcome. THEATRE CONCERT Pitlochry Festival Theatre will host the highly-acclaimed duo Jinski next Monday evening.
Steve Wegrzynski and musical partner Dave Kennedy fuse folk with country and pop and have supported the Proclaimers and Lindisfarne.
Visit the theatre website for more information. GUILDTOWN BLOOMING A reception was held by Blooming Guildtown committee members to thank everyone who supported their efforts to ensure the village looked its best before an inspection by ‘Take A Pride In Perthshire’ judges.
Committee member Ellen Simpson said: “Front borders were tidied, hedges cut, pavements swept and flower boxes made a good show of colour on the main street. We are grateful to everyone who helped.”
Results will be announced next month. CHILDMINDING SESSIONS Perth and Kinross residents are being offered support to become childminders.
Free introductory sessions are being held on Wednesday August 30 with courses following in September.

The two-man show would have touched on the conversations between JRR Tolkien and CS Lewis when they studied together at Oxford.
