Fife Flyers have bolstered their roster for the 2017-18 season with two more new signings.

The Kirkcaldy club have confirmed the return of Canadian forward Chase Schaber and also added American right winger Charlie Mosey.

Schaber, 26, returns to Fife following an impressive EIHL debut season that saw him ice in 55 games on the way to scoring 25 goals and 17 assists.

He said: “I am excited to be playing for the Flyers again. I have nothing but good things to say about the passionate, proud, and loud fans we have.

“My goal for our team, and I think everyone in the room including staff can agree, is that we are going to do everything we can to bring back some silverware to Fife.

“Not making the finals in Nottingham was disappointing last year and I definitely want to be there this year. Personally I am going to do everything in my power to have a complete season this year.”

Mosey, who began his professional career in the SPHL playing for Mississippi Riverkings, spent last season in the ECHL with Elmira Jackals.

He said: “I am thrilled to have the opportunity to play for Fife.

“When the team first contacted me, I immediately reached out to Matt Reber, a fellow Minnesotan and Dartmouth alum, who played for the Flyers for two seasons.

“He told me that he really enjoyed his time spent in Kirkcaldy. That was more than enough to get me hooked on the organisation, so I’m glad that everything worked out.”

“I am eager to meet the rest of the guys and get the season underway.”

Flyers head coach Todd Dutiaume was delighted with the additions to the squad – and hiopes they will make a real impact.

He said: “I’m delighted we reached an agreement with Chase, one of our most popular players from last season.

“I must admit at times I had resigned myself to the fact that this was not going to happen but Chase has the potential to have a major impact, not only within our squad, but around the league.

“We will rely heavily on Schabs this season and I look forward to finding out what he is capable of helping our team achieve this year.”
