Unbeaten records put to test in Dundee’s Premier League derby

A number of local derbies take place tonight as the second and last of the scheduled midweek fixtures take place tonight.

There is only one game in Dundee but it is a cracker with Lochee United playing host to Broughty Athletic.

The pair have made unbeaten starts to the season in the Super League, accumulating seven points.

The Bluebells were in rampant form at the weekend, winning 4-0 at Sauchie, whilst the Fed were worthy of more than the point from their trip to Kennoway Star Hearts.

At Strathmore Park, Forfar West End and Carnoustie Panmure clash.

Both sides will be in good heart after picking up their first points of the season on Saturday thanks to wins against Hill of Beath and Broxburn respectively.

Meanwhile Dundonald and Hill of Beath will be looking to atone for defeats four days ago in the Fife derby at Moorside Park.

In the other top flight contest involving Courier Country clubs, Kennoyway Star Hearts host Jeanfield Swifts.

The top Premier League clash locally is Tayport’s trip to Kirrie Thistle. The Port are seeking a hat-trick of wins, whilst Thistle will look to bounce back from a 4-1 home defeat to Fauldhouse.

After two straight home wins St Andrews travel to Glenrothes who will hope to make home advantage count against their fellow Fifers after collecting one point from three successive away game.

Thornton Hibs and Downfield will battle it out at Memorial Park with both clubs looking for their first victory of the campaign.
