Weather hits A9 improvements
The £50,000 improvements on the A9 Blackford junction have been extended for two nights due to heavy rain affecting operations.
The additional work will now take place tonight and tomorrow, from 7.30pm to 6.30am, with works expected to finish by 6.30am on Saturday.
Lane closures with temporary prohibited right turns will be in place for the duration of the improvement works each night.
Diversion routes are available via Queen Victoria interchange, north of Dunblane in the south and Loaninghead interchange in the north for motorists looking to use the junction to and from Blackford.
The lane closures and junction restrictions will be lifted during the day to minimise disruption.
Andy Thompson, BEAR Scotland’s north-east representative, said: “Heavy rain can have a significant impact on road materials during surfacing operations such as this, and although the weather is outwith our control, our teams will continue to do all they can to minimise disruption and complete the works as quickly and safely as possible.
“We thank motorists for their continued patience while the junction improvements are completed.”
