Blooms, vegetables and floral art on show at Almond Valley event

Pitcairngr­een village hall was ablaze with colour for a regular fixture on the village calendar, the Almond Valley Flower Show.

Organised by the Almond Valley Horticultu­ral Society, the annual show is an opportunit­y for the green-fingered members of the community to show the fruits of their labours over the past season.

The show was not confined to blooms and floral art and there was plenty other things of interest for visitors.

These included displays of vegetables and craft items.

Cut flowers:

Chrysanthe­mums – Bruce McLeod.

Roses – Hilary Mackenzie.

Sweet peas – Ian Baird. Gladioli – Ian Baird.

Herbaceous – Bruce McLeod.

Pot plants:

Vegetables:
