Police hunting for a biker who fled after knocking down a girl are following up “positive” leads from CCTV,

The child is recovering at home after being struck near a campsite in Perthshire on Thursday evening.

The 10-year-old suffered an arm injury following the incident, which happened in Kinross near to the Lethangie campsite entrance.

She is now back home but was described by a source as being in a state of shock.

A spokeswoma­n for Police Scotland confirmed they are hunting the motorcycli­st.

She said: “About 7.50pm on Thursday August 31, a road traffic incident happened on the A922 South Street, Milnathort, whereby a motorcycle travelling towards Milnathort struck a child, knocking them to the ground before leaving the scene of the accident.

“The 10-year-old girl suffered an arm injury and was treated by ambulance at the scene and then allowed home.

“Officers would like to speak to the motorcycli­st and ask the public for their assistance in this matter.”

Anyone who witnessed this incident who hasn’t already been spoken to by police are asked to contact Police Scotland on 101 quoting reference 3395 of August 31.

Situated between Kinross and Milnathort, the Camping and Caravan Club site has previously been popular with T in the Park revellers who wanted to avoid the main event camp site.
