Visitors to Dundee Flower and Food Festival this weekend will have the chance to win a stunning Honda Civic Type R.

All you need to do is roll seven sixes with a throw of seven dice and the keys to the 316bhp beast are yours.

The competition is organised by Claverhouse Rotary Club with the car provided by West End Honda in Broughty Ferry.

An additional prize of a Knockhill driving experience will be on offer as well.

All money raised by the event goes to charity.

Claverhouse Rotary president Ron MacWalter said: “Last year we raised £1,400 which was donated to local charities and it would be very good if we could beat that this year”

West End Honda managing director James Ewart said: “We have been involved with this particular fundraiser for a few years now and we are delighted to help Claverhouse Rotary Club to raise funds for the many local causes they support.

“We’d be delighted to see somebody win this fabulous car.”

The new Type R has been gaining rave reviews by motoring hacks since it was released this year.

Prices for the car start at around £31,000 and its 2.0-litre turbocharged petrol engine is capable of launching it from 0-62mph in 5.7 seconds.

I headed along to Knockhill in the new Type R, where director of events Stuart Gray took me for a few laps round the track before I drove it back to Perth.

The new car’s every bit as savage as the old – and then some – when it comes to speed and handling, but it’s a much more refined cruiser when you’re not pressing on.

Look out for a full review in Wednesday’s Courier Motoring soon.

In the meantime, head along to Dundee Flower and Food Festival – it runs from 10am to 5.30pm today and tomorrow – and see if you can win yourself one.
