Newly-opened sports facility attracts top international event

For the first time in decades an international netball event is to be staged in Perth.

Perth College UHI’s new Academy of Sport and Wellbeing is hosting the European Netball World Cup Qualifiers next year from January 19 to 21.

Scotland’s national netball team, the Scottish Thistles, will be on home soil as Netball Scotland host the qualifiers in partnership with Perth College UHI.

Netball Scotland’s head of performance, and Scottish Thistles coach, Gail Parata said: “On the road to the 2018 Gold Coast Commonwealth Games, the Scottish Thistles will use the European World Cup Qualifiers as important preparation for this major event.”
