Big fish to be had at Rescobie

RESCOBIE LOCH is still providing great sport with many anglers enjoying good catches.

Water quality is good and there have been a good number of bigger fish caught.

August catches included 38 brown trout for 88lb and 31 returned and 891 rainbows for 2,383lb with 357 returned.

August fish of the month winner was Stan Morrison, who pipped Allan Woodrow on the last day with a rainbow of 7lb 8oz.

September leader is G Clubb with a rainbow of 9lb.

Clubs fishing recently: DEE AC 12 fish for 24lb 7oz; Newtyle and Meigle AC, 18 fish for 44lb; CSSC Perth, 19 fish for 49lb 8oz; Balbeggie AC, 32 fish for 92lb, the best at 7lb 8oz; Discovery AC, 16 fish, 44lb and three returned; Brechin, 42 fish, 110lb 8oz with 24 returned; Blairgowrie AC, 28 fish, 78lb, with a best of 8lb.

The best of the anglers catching the four-fish limit were: Alan Taylor, 15lb 4oz; Stan Morrison, 14lb; Bob Buick, 14lb; Gordon Armstrong, 12lb 8oz; P Robertson, 12lb; Richard Malkowski, 11lb 8oz; Maggie Norrie, 11lb.
