Callachan confident of victory

-

New signing Ross Callachan is confident Hearts will give Craig Levein the first win of his second spell as manager this weekend if they can get “anywhere near” the standard they set against Aberdeen.

The Tynecastle outfit recovered from a sticky opening against the Dons at BT Murrayfield on Saturday to dominate the majority of the match.

The visitors had keeper Joe Lewis to thank for a string of saves that kept an entertaining encounter goalless.

Levein takes his Jambos on their travels further afield this weekend to face Hamilton Accies and Callachan, who made an impressive debut against Aberdeen after his arrival from Raith Rovers, is convinced the men in maroon can land all three points.

He said: “If we get anywhere near the level we did against Aberdeen and create that number of chances hopefully one or two will go in this week. “We’ve got to fancy our chances.” Callachan himself was denied a debut goal by Lewis but the boyhood Hearts fan has revealed the Aberdeen goalie was blessed with a moment of good fortune as he kept the ball out of the net.

He added on Hearts TV: “It hit his face! There wasn’t much he knew about it.”
