Dundee’s Mark O’Hara insists he will continue to work as hard as he can to nail down a regular place in manager Neil McCann’s first-choice starting XI,

The 21-year-old midfielder has endured a frustrating start to the season, being in and out of the team.

O’Hara did start against Celtic in the Betfred Cup last Wednesday but had to be content coming off the bench during the Premiership draw with Kilmarnock on Saturday.

Now, he hopes he did enough in his cameo performance at Rugby Park to convince McCann that he deserves to line up against Hearts this weekend.

O’Hara said: “I have not had a run in the team at all yet this season.

amount of players we have and the quality of them. There are options everywhere.

“The manager has spoken to me and I am just working hard and waiting for my chance.

“I had an opportunity against Killie, I felt I did OK, so hopefully I can nail a place in the starting XI.

“I do not mind where I am playing just as long as I am in the side.”

Meanwhile, Dundee’s Glen Kamara has been called up to the Finland squad for World Cup qualifiers against Croatia and Turkey next month.
