Blues Heroes of the slopes

A group of young Perthshire skiers have been selected as ambassadors for the sport.

Maisie Morgan, Iona Ross and Scott Buchan are among 19 Blues Heroes recognised for their achievements in domestic and/or international alpine ski racing.

The trio have all achieved considerable success on the national circuit and both Iona, 14, and Scott, 17, are members of the 2017/2018 Scottish Alpine Ski Squad.

At only 11 years old, Maisie is already part of the GBX-Cross Development squad. From the Blairgowrie area, Maisie first skied at 18 months and has trained with the Glenshee Performance Squad since the age of five.

From December, she will decamp to Pila, Italy, to train for the majority of the season with the British Ski Academy.

The Blues Heroes programme was first launched in 2015, by the specialist alpine ski retailer Blues The Ski Shop. Since 2011, it has been part of Tiso Group.
