Pensioner phoned police and said she thought she’d killed her then-boyfriend

A 63-year-old straddled her date and pummelled his head before dialling 999 and telling police: “I think I’ve killed my partner.”

Elizabeth Felix launched the attack on William Dickson because she had dressed up for their date and felt that he had not been paying her enough attention.

Perth Sheriff Court was told yesterday that the couple had only been dating for two months when Felix turned into the girlfriend from hell.

Felix, 63, Methven Buildings, Perth, admitted injuring William Dickson, 62, by repeatedly striking him on the head at his home in Queens Terrace, Auchterarder, on July 23.

Sheriff Derek Reekie deferred sentence for four months for Felix to be of good behaviour.

Fiscal depute Michael Sweeney said: “She arrived at his home address early in the afternoon. They had been in a boyfriend/girlfriend relationship for eight weeks.

“They began to drink alcohol until 9pm, when they had a five-minute argument.

“He told the accused he had had enough of being grilled by her and told her he was going to bed. The accused followed him to the bedroom and she straddled his body and began to strike him repeatedly to his face.

“She them climbed off him and contacted police herself, dialling 999, and stating ‘I think I’ve killed my partner.’”

When the police arrived at the house, she told officers: “I lost it. I battered him because we are not working.”

Mr Dickson was taken to Perth Royal Infirmary where he was found to have a bump to his head and a number of cuts and bruises to his face.

Solicitor Paul Ralph, defending, said: “She is 63 and has no previous convictions. She was trying to get him to pay her attention, as she was of the view he was not doing that.

“She was taken into custody overnight and was in a terrible state in the cells the next morning. She and Mr Dickson are no longer together and have no intention of resuming their relationship.”

Sheriff Reekie told Felix: “It is always sad to see someone your age appear before the court for the first time. I hope it has been a salutary experience for you.

“This was not an insignificant attack on this individual and was drink-fuelled.”
