Headlining at Conroy’s Basement are The Kimberly Steaks, the west coast’s finest melodic buzzsaw punks who return east to reclaim their crown as the kings of Scottish pop punk.

They’re supported by Don Blake from Manchester.

Also on the bill are DIY Scottish punksters Paper Rifles and LaChance, Dundee’s most effusive confession­al basementdw­elling punk rockers.

On Sunday it’s The Junkyard Dogs in their usual 7pm residency.

There’s a celebratio­n of Marc Bolan and T Rex at Church in Dundee on Saturday to mark what would have been the iconic singer’s 70th birthday.

Dundee musician Connor Byrne has organised it and he explains: “I’ve always been into T Rex, especially recently, and on doing a lot of intense Bolan reading I noticed it was his birthday soon.

“So I took it upon myself to compile a few of my mates to celebrate his birthday in true glam style.”

The pop punk group will be playing two hours of old skool rock with legendary local DJ Joe Digan spinning all the classic hits on either side.
