Brutal and bloody end to lives hit by tragedy

- STEFAN MORKIS

The murders of Holly Alexander and Ronald Kidd were a bloody end to lives already mired in tragedy and drugs.

Ms Alexander, 37, was a mother of three who battled heroin addiction, while Mr Kidd had already lost two children.

Ms Alexander had moved to Dundee from the US in 2014 with her husband Forrest, where they set up the popular NY Pizza takeaway in the Hilltown.

But the High Court in Edinburgh was told the American had relapsed into addiction shortly before her death.

She left her family in September last year and, around that time, became romantically involved with Mr Kidd, 40.

Holly Alexander’s mother Lorraine DiPalermo, who lives in New Hampshire, said: “This sentence is a joke.

“He should have gotten 100 years so he never even had a second of hope, like my daughter.”

Mr Kidd, a father of four, was predeceased by two of his children.

It is claimed Gadecki launched his furious attack on the pair after Kidd refused to sell him drugs.

The Pole, who had been jailed in his homeland for crimes including rape, robbery and fraud, then later returned to the West End property, which he ransacked for drugs and money.

The bodies of his two victims were only discovered when security services monitoring the electronic tag Mr Kidd was wearing realised he had not moved for three days.

Families in mourning on both sides of the Atlantic will be asking why Gadecki was allowed to remain in the UK.

Ms Alexander’s estranged husband Forrest said: “Scumbag was convicted of double murder.

“Evil piece of garbage is a convicted rapist and armed robber from Poland where he served eight years and came straight to the UK.

“Scum only gets 26 years mandatory before eligible for parole for double murder.”

He added: “This place is a ******* joke.”
