Top price of the day went to Doune Farms for a 53kg Beltex at £110, and to a top of 217ppkg for a 46kg Beltex also from Doune Farms. Leading prices:

Heavy ewes (341) ave £56.09 selling to £99 for a Texel from Carden, Fossoway.

Export ewes (496) ave £28.85. Tups sold to £89 for a Suffolk from Wester Ballochear­n.

Caledonian Marts sold 592 store cattle. Bullocks ave 211ppkg, selling to 300ppkg for a Charolais from Murrayshal­l, Stirling, and to £1,200 for a Charolais from Baluskie, Barrhill.

Heifers ave 201ppkg selling to 333ppkg for a Charolais from from Murrayshal­l, Stirling, and to £1,250 for a Limousin (reserve champion in the show) from Greenwells, California.

Black and white bullocks ave 140ppkg selling to 151.7p from Mershaugh Farm, Ervie and to £750 from Gryffeside, Kilmacolm. Bullocks per kilo: 294p Scart, 279p Scart.

Heifers per kilo: 320p Greenwells, 239p Camreggan, 237p Greenwells. Black and white bullocks per kilo: 148.5p, 143p, 141p Gryffeside.

Also sold: 2,543 store lambs and feeding ewes.

Top price of the day was shared by Barrduff and Coull, Isle of Islay for Suff X Lambs at £65.
