Shipbuilders finally docked at home as they welcome Vics

-

Fresh from last week’s cup triumph over Super League Lochee United, East Craigie are back on North League business today when they play host to Brechin Vics.

After their nomadic start to the season, it will be the Shipbuilders’ first game at Craigie Park with new changing rooms now installed.

Other than Aidan Benvie and Liam McArtney, the Shipbuilders are at full strength as they look to stay in touch with the leading pack.

The visitors will be looking to bounce back from last week’s heavy defeat by Lochee Harp.

Meanwhile leaders Violet head to third-placed Scone Thistle in what promises to be a tough test for Ralph Henderson’s side.

The only consolation for the Pansies after last week’s 4-0 defeat to North End was that league points weren’t at stake. They are missing Ross McLeary and Mitchell Hay.

Thistle welcome back Craig Mitchell back but will be without the suspended Charlie Fertacz.

Buoyed by last week’s cup win over Violet, North End must be confident of enhancing their promotion prospects going into their home game against second-bottom Newburgh.

Dokens boss Ross Lunan is again without Michael Stewart and Zak Wilson, but has Cammy McMahon available after going out on loan from Lochee United.

The Fife visitors will certainly need to improve on last week’s display when they were hammered 8-1 at home by South League Harthill.

Luncarty’s unbeaten home record will be put to the test by Lochee Harp, who are just a couple of places below the second-top Bleachers.

The Perthshire side expect to be along usual lines, while Harp, who put seven past Brechin last week, are strengthened by the return of Jay Smart, Lloyd Young, Lewis Fyfe and Lee Gallagher. Goalkeeper Darren Brown and James Cochrane will again be on the sidelines.

Although without five players, Kinnoull will be expected to get back to winning ways after last week’s surprise defeat to Coupar Angus when they host bottom side Forfar Albion,

Greg Whyte, David Gray, Cammy Ogg, Greg Fleming and Garry Crockett are the Tulloch Parkers’ absentees

Arbroath Vics welcome Blairgowrie and are without Scott Donald and Charlie Wilson.

In addition to the suspended Gordon Norrie, Blair will be without Gordon Norrie and the injured pair of Robbie Hood and Greg McDonald.

Lochore have the same squad available as the one that won at Oakley in the Fife & Lothians Cup last week as they welcome Coupar Angus.

The Foxhall outfit, who defeated Kinnoull last week with 10 men, are without the suspended Ross Nicholson and include a couple of trialists in a 17-strong squad.

● A very professional away performance enabled Montrose Roselea to break their North Super League points duck last week.

Boss James Collier will be looking for more of the same at home to Ellon United.

Kick-off at Broomfield Park is 2pm.
