Motorists warned to be aware of disruption for A90 improvements
A £400,000 programme of road improvements gets under way on the outskirts of Perth this week.
A section of the northbound A90 near Perth between Barnhill and Kinfauns, as well as the northbound off-slip at Barnhill interchange, will be affected.
The resurfacing works start at 7.30pm on Friday and will take place over one weekend, working continuously until 6.30am next Monday.
To help keep workers and road users safe, a contraflow system will be in place on the southbound carriageway between Barnhill junction and Kinfauns junction to direct traffic away from the works area.
A reduced speed limit of 50mph will also be in place.
Due to the location of the resurfacing operations, the Kinfauns Castle junction will be closed over the weekend during the works. A signed local diversion route will be in place for traffic normally using the Kinfauns Castle junction and access will be maintained for local residents only.
Preliminary works will take place overnight on Thursday to prepare for the traffic management arrangements ahead of the work beginning on Friday evening.
In addition, improvements to the northbound off-slip at Barnhill junction interchange from Friarton Bridge will be made over two nights from tonight between 7.30pm to 6.30am.
The work includes installation of warning signs and new road markings.
The northbound off-slip from the M90 after Friarton Bridge will be closed during working hours, with traffic diverted to Kinfauns.
