Lindsay family steals the show at Forfar

Champion and reserve titles for Cairnleith at show and sale of springborn calves

The Lindsay family from Cairnleith swept the boards at Forfar Mart’s show of spring-born calves at the weekend, winning both champion and reserve rosettes.

Their champion, a 270kg heifer, made £1,300 (481ppk) while their reserve champion, a bullock, weighed 305kg and made £1,090 (357ppk).

The winner of the best pen of four bullocks was the Glenkilrie Partnershi­p from Blacklunan­s, and the top pen of heifers came from A Wilkie, Westerton.

A total of 397 suckled calves and 233 store cattle were sold.
