Keeper urging Rangers to keep up momentum

-

Wes Foderingham is looking for Rangers to keep the momentum going after the international break following their win over Thistle on Saturday.

In what was Graeme Murty’s second game as stand-in boss following the recent sacking of Pedro Caixinha, the home side turned in a solid performance to go within three points of second-placed Aberdeen.

Gers’ 19-year-old defender Ross McCrorie, who kept his place despite the return of Bruno Alves from suspension, scored his first goal for the club in the 29th minute when he headed in a cross from Daniel Candeias.

The winger doubled that lead with a drive after good work by midfielder Jason Holt and midfielder Josh Windass added a third at the start of the second half to make it two wins out of two for the Ibrox club’s head development coach Murty, who finds himself caretaker manager for the second time this year.

The domestic games stop for the international break and goalkeeper Foderingham is looking to get back on track against Hamilton when the Ladbrokes Premiership resumes.

He told RangersTV: “We will be looking to get three points from that game as well so hopefully we can just keep the momentum and keep winning football matches.

“We scored three good goals and we haven’t had too many clean sheets this season so that has been something we have been trying to improve on and thankfully we got one on Saturday.

“He (Murty) did a fantastic job the last time and the boys really enjoy having him in the building, he is a breath of fresh air.

“The boys are really looking forward to the next few games under him.”
