Blaze at stock exchange

-

Laurencekirk-based Blaze Manufacturing sounded the bell on trading on the London Stock Exchange (LSE) yesterday.

Owners Ann and Howard Johnson were invited to do the honours after joining ELITE, the exchange’s international business support and capital- raising ecosystem.

Blaze – which was also named as one of LSE’s 1,000 UK Companies to Inspire earlier this year – provides a range of technical safety and loss-prevention solutions to the oil and gas, renewable energies, mining, commercial and industrial sectors.

Its work entails everything from the design, supply and installation and the commissioning and maintenance of fire alarm and extinguishing systems in the UK and overseas.

Mr Johnson said it was an honour to be involved in ELITE and to be asked to formally open the London market.

He said Blaze was now looking to the future after a challenging period.

“Despite some uncertain years following the downturn in oil and gas, we have continued to invest heavily in research and development to enable us to enter new markets which makes us more competitive than some of our European counterparts,” Mr Johnson said.

“Having the correct people in place is vital as we diversify, and we owe a huge amount to our dedicated team who play a major role in the success of the company.”
