Moves to end the parking “free-forall” on Angus streets could be in place by April. Officials are concerned about road safety, as drivers ignore regulations including double yellow lines. A crackdown on drivers abusing short-term parking spaces is also part of the scheme. Anger about the issues around Angus parking has escalated since the withdrawal by police of traffic wardens resulted in the decriminalisation of the system. Community wardens will be given the right to issue fines.
