Beating Giants vital: Andersson

Dundee Stars hero Johan Andersson hailed the side’s gutsy win over Belfast Giants on Sunday.

The Swedish star, who opened the scoring against the Irish side, claimed the 2-0 victory was vital as it came on the back of a heavy 5-1 derby defeat against Fife Flyers.

The 30-year-old forward said: “That was a big win for us and an important one for the team and the supporters after Fife.

“The two points are a masssive boost ahead of the visit of champions Cardiff Devils on Wednesday.

“They are another quality side but we had a day off on Monday to rest so we’re good to go.”
