Neighbours forced to sell home following campaign of abuse
A Perth man has forced his neighbours to put their home up for sale after embarking on a campaign of abuse against them.
Chad Netherington branded Radek Waliszewski a “Polish p***k” and asked if he had a facial deformity as a child.
Depute fiscal Michael Sweeney said the 26-year-old and the complainers were neighbours.
He said: “At about 11am on April 23 Mr Waliszewski contacted police to report the accused had approached him whilst he was sitting in his car and began to shout at him.
“Mr Waliszewski asked him what his problem was and the accused replied ‘you’re my problem’ before getting in Mr Waliszewski’s face and saying ‘why don’t we take it out the back and get it sorted?’
“On June 28 the witnesses saw the accused in their garden and asked what he was doing.
“He said he’s jumped across the fence to retrieve a toy. He became aggressive stating he would punch Mr Waliszewski.”
Solicitor Rebecca McKnight said that Netherington’s position was the dispute was not one sided and despite putting their home on the market the complainers continued to reside there.
Netherington, of Matthews Drive in Perth, admitted causing Agata Mazur and Radek Waliszewski fear and alarm by acting in an aggressive manner towards them, staring at them, uttering threatening remarks to Mr Waliszewski and repeatedly shouting, swearing and making derogatory remarks and threats of violence towards them.
The offences took place at Matthews Drive between April 23 and August 26 this year.
Sentence was deferred for reports.
