ALYTH:

The next meeting of the Alyth Literary Society is tomorrow when, in a change to their advertised programme, David Merrie from Clunie will give an illustrate­d talk entitled SouthEast Alps – Their Flora and Landscape.

The meeting will be held in the Ogilvy Rooms, Commercial Street, Alyth and starts at 7.30pm.

BRIDGE OF EARN:

The next meeting of Earn Community Council will be held next Monday at 7pm in The Moncrieffe Room, The Institute, Bridge of Earn.

BANKFOOT:

A variety concert at Bankfoot Church Community Centre on Friday at 7pm will feature Jim Smith, The McAndrew Sisters, Claire Smith and Friends, young musicians, Claire Bywalec and Students, Serendipit­y and Mr Magic. Tickets can be purchased from the café or by contacting 01738 828293.

All proceeds go to support Bankfoot Community Centre.

PITLOCHRY:

The Pitlochry Bowling Club AGM will take place in the clubhouse on Monday December 4 at 7pm.

The clubhouse is also the venue for a Christmas celebratio­n, hosted by Pitlochry Baptist Church, on Saturday December 9 at 7.30pm, with all proceeds going to CHAS.

CONCERT: Internatio­nal singing star Jack Jones will play Perth Concert Hall on February 3 as one of a handful of dates as part of his 80th birthday celebratio­ns.

OPERA:

Scottish Opera’s tour of smaller venues will visit McLaren High School, Callander, on Saturday February 10 at 7.30pm.
