O’Dea handed two-match ban after dismissal
The SFA have confirmed that Dundee skipper Darren O’Dea will miss the next two games through suspension following his sending off against Kilmarnock at the weekend.
The 30-year-old defender was given his marching orders by referee Willie Collum after picking up two yellow cards during the game at Dens.
It was the second time this season the Irishman had been red carded with his other dismissal coming against St Johnstone in September.
Now, following his latest sending off against Killie, the SFA have suspended him for “one SPFL first team league match immediate and one SPFL first team league match from December 2”.
That means O’Dea will sit out Friday night’s game against Rangers at Dens and then the trip to Dingwall to face Ross County.
Meanwhile, Dundee boss
Neil McCann is understood to be running the rule over French goalkeeper Jeremy Malherbe.
The 26-year-old is a free agent after leaving Belarusian club Dynamo Brest.
Dundee could be on the lookout for a new keeper depending on the outcome of an internal disciplinary process involving first-choice stopper Scott Bain.
The keeper, who has made more than 120 appearances for the Dark Blues, has been frozen out since the game against Hamilton at the end of last month following an alleged bust-up with McCann, with Elliott Parish taking his place between the sticks in the last two matches.
