A man was taken to hospital after being pinned to a wall by his own car in Perth yesterday morning.

The accident happened on Dundee Road.

A specialist trauma team from the Scottish Ambulance Service raced to the scene after the alarm was raised around 8.40am.

Witnesses said they saw a man being stretchered away.

The occupants of the property did not want to speak about the incident.

However, a silver Volvo S40 could be seen parked in the driveway of the property with a rear passenger door missing.

One door was propped up against the side of the house, while the other was ajar and badly misshapen.

The incident led to tailbacks along Dundee Road, with traffic queues as far back as Friarton.

While ambulance and fire service crews worked at the scene, police directed traffic around their vehicles, which were parked on the main road.

A Scottish Ambulance Service spokesman said it sent several units to the scene.

He said: “We received a call at 8.44am today to attend an address on Dundee Road. We dispatched one ambulance, the Tayside trauma team and a manager to the scene.

“One male patient in his thirties was taken to Ninewells Hospital.”

A spokesman for the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service said its crews used cutting gear to free the man.

He said: “We attended a one-vehicle RTC at 8.59am. One person was physically trapped and we used cutting gear to free him.”

A spokesman for Police Scotland confirmed: “We were called to an address on Dundee road at 8.40am.

“A man had been pinned against a wall by his own car in a driveway.

“He has sustained injuries but they do not appear to be serious.”
