Care home staff’s delight after inspectors’ ‘excellent’ rating
A Perthshire care home has been praised for its work following a recent Care Inspectorate visit.
Ruthven Towers in Auchterarder, run by Balhousie Care Group, was awarded an “excellent” rating of grade six for both management, leadership, care and support.
It comes after the home introduced a range of measures which involve residents, their families and staff in everything from policy and recruitment to activities.
During last month’s visit, the Care Inspectorate assessors found residents and their relatives spoke highly of the quality of support provided and that communication with the service staff and manager was excellent.
The inspectors said Ruthven Towers was “performing at an excellent level” in supporting people. They added that they were impressed with the positive approach taken by staff in encouraging people to identify and access hobbies.
The report concluded that the home, which provides accommodation for up to 51 residents, was “extremely well run”.
Jozi Stables, manager at Ruthven Towers, said: “The whole team is absolutely delighted by the grading from the recent Care Inspectorate visit and I’m extremely proud of what we’ve achieved by working together.
“This is testament to their hard work.”
The Care Inspectorate is the body responsible for monitoring care services in Scotland to ensure they meet required care standards and provide users with safe, high quality services.
