Limousin from Fife is champion

The champion of Caledonian Marts Christmas show was a Limousin heifer from Craig Malone, Pitcairn, Cardenden.

It weighed 540kg and made £3.50 per kg to Scott Brothers.

The reserve champion was a Limousin bullock from Stephanie Dick, Westerton, Stirling.

It scaled 548kg and realised £3.40 per kg to Scott Brothers.

In total 145 prime bullocks, heifers and young bulls, and 112 cast cows and bulls were sold.

Prime bullocks averaged 230ppkg. Prime heifers averaged 237ppkg. Young bulls averaged 209ppkg. Cast beef cows averaged 122p. Cast dairy cows averaged 101p. OTM males averaged 134p.
