Your big chance to have a say on future spending and savings

The people of Perth and Kinross are being asked to tell the council about their priorities for the coming years, which will feed into the budget-setting process next year.

Like all local authorities, the council is preparing for the significant financial challenges which lie ahead.

Public views gathered in the survey will help councillors when considering the options for the 2018-19 financial year and beyond.

The online survey is open from now until midnight on Sunday February 4 at pkc.gov. uk/budget

A summary of responses will be included in the report considered by the council when agreeing the budget later that month.

Council leader Ian Campbell said: “It will not come as news to anyone that Perth and Kinross Council faces major financial challenges as we head into the next financial year.

“Public sector budgets are tighter than ever and there will be some hard decisions to make.

“The council has a good strong record of prudent financial management, which has been recognised by external auditors over a number of years.

“However, demand for services has continued to increase across the board, and it is important to look at how these are delivered while managing reducing budgets.

“I would urge as many people as possible to take the time to fill in the online survey to make sure your views are taken into account when the council meets to agree the budget next year.”

Respondents are asked how they would make savings and to share any ideas they may have to generate additional income.
