CRAFTS:

The AK Bell library will hold a number of children’s crafts events this Saturday.

Visitors throughout the day will be able to write to Santa using a giant quill pen.

From 9.45 there with be a Bookbug Rhymetime for underfives, with face painting on offer from 10am.

From 11am there will be a storytelli­ng session for five to 11-year-olds and at noon Perthshire Brass will be playing seasonal favourites and Christmas carols on the library floor. To book places in the storytelli­ng sessions, contact the library.

PITLOCHRY:

The Ladies’ Club Christmas Dinner was a success, with 20 members enjoying the evening with their secret Santa gifts.

The next meeting will be in the form of a beetle drive on January 10.

TALK:

Iain McEwan will be the speaker at the next meeting of Arthritis Awareness in Atholl in Moulin Hall on Monday January 8 at 2.30pm. Mr McEwan will speak on Costa Rica.

MUSIC:

A live performanc­e of festive favourite the Snowman will be held in Perth Concert Hall tomorrow evening.

The Royal Scottish National Orchestra (RSNO) will perform while the animated film is shown on big screens. The show will also be narrated by an as-yet unnamed star guest.

The show begins at 7.30pm and tickets are available from Horsecross Arts.
