SCONE AND DISTRICT HISTORICAL SOCIETY
The society’s next meeting takes place in Scone Old Church Hall, Burnside, on Monday beginning at 7.30pm.
Steve Murdoch will give a presentation entitled The 30 Years War in Europe.
Admission is £2 for nonmembers.
BLYTHSWOOD CARE
The first Perth visit of 2018 by the Blythswood Care collection truck will be on Tuesday when the charity will be in the Asda car park on Dunkeld Road between 11.30am and 1.30pm.
Donations of clothes, shoes, books, bric-a-brac, blankets, small items of furniture and soft furnishings bearing fire labels will be welcomed.
SCONE SENIORS
The club meets in the RDM Institute on Wednesday at 2.30pm when the speaker will be Andy Paterson.
ABERNETHY HORTICULTURAL SOCIETY
The next meeting of the Abernethy Horticultural Society will take place in the Masonic Hall on Wednesday at 7.30pm.
The evening’s talk will be All About Potatoes by farmer John Marshall.
There will be a £2.50 entrance fee for non-members.
THE GAELIC SOCIETY OF PERTH
The group holds its January ceilidh at St Matthew’s Church Hall on Tay Street a week today at 7.30pm.
Mod gold medallist James Graham will be joined by young talent from the world of Gaelic music, including singers and instrumentalists.
Admission is £5 for members and £6 for non-members.
CRIME
Police officers in Crieff are investigating an attempted break-in at a property on Galloway Crescent during the afternoon of Friday December 22.
Anyone with information can call police on 101.
HEARTSTART DISCOVERY
A free two-hour training session in emergency life support will take place in Perth on Saturday January 20 between 10am and noon.
