HEALTH: The GP unit at Blairgowrie Community Hospital has been closed to new admissions due to an outbreak of flu.
A small number of patients are affected.
NHS Tayside has urged friends and relatives to avoid visiting, if possible, in an effort to avoid further spread of the infection.
HISTORY: Kinross-shire Historical Society meets at Kinross Parish Church on Monday January 15 at 7.30pm.
David Munro will give a talk entitled Town Twinning, its Birth, Early Years and Maturity.
MUSIC:
Glenfarg Folk Club’s latest meeting takes place at Backstage at the Green Hotel in Kinross on Monday January 22 from 7.30pm.
It takes the form of a Burns singaround, with haggis, neeps and tatties also on offer. Admission is £6.
CHARITY:
Perth and Kinross Association for Voluntary Services (PKAVS) is encouraging eligible unpaid carers to apply for the Time4Me Fund.
The fund can help pay for a hobby, dance class fees or even a football season ticket.

Pets at Home in Perth are offering free wild bird workshops for children.
Events will take place on January 20, 21, 27 and 28, to support RSPB’s Big Garden Birdwatch.
