Jazz at Hospitalfield opens its 28th year of regular promotions with a quartet of leading players.
Saxophonist and clarinettist John Burgess, whose experience ranges across the jazz spectrum, has gathered together a group of friends whose talents have been appreciated all over the world.
Pianist Brian Kellock has been the featured soloist in the Scottish National Jazz Orchestra’s Duke Ellington tribute and its internationallyacclaimed recreation of Rhapsody in Blue.
Bassist Roy Percy’s regular schedule includes the Dutch classical and swing violinist Tim Kliphuis’ trio and drummer Tom Gordon is the driving force behind the BBC Big Band.
They’ll be playing Fats Waller tunes, rags and New Orleans classics.
The gig has sold out but some returned tickets might be available.
