Tomorrow at Conroy’s Basement in Dundee, there’s a night of Oldewave/neo folk and electronic music, Described as a Campiric Transfusio­n of Ancient and Future, local promoters Jaggers Lips present a threeband line-up.

Kelora, the Glasgow duo consisting of Benedict Salter and Kitty Hall, headline the show and are the medieval futurist, nu-celtic folk band you never knew you needed.

This is their first-ever gig in Dundee, which comes ahead of their Celtic Connection­s show in a couple of weeks in Glasgow.

Support comes from Traaps and Bubu and tickets are £5 on the door.

Tickets are also on sale now for a special show at Conroy’s Basement later this month, where R&R Concerts host Loki the Scottish Rapper.

The event, entitled Poverty Safari Live, takes place on January 26 and tickets are £8 in advance from the venue.

The live show is a very special performanc­e inspired by Loki’s new book, Poverty Safari, displaying a mix of rap, comedy and music.

To celebrate the release of Hilltown Disco’s HIL003 EP, the collective will be taking the reins at the Reading Rooms tonight.

The EP will soon be available on vinyl and digital and features French electro duo Crossmods, Edmundy and local talent J-Wax.

Entry is £5 and gates open at 10.30pm with all proceeds going towards future EPs and merchandis­e.

Meanwhile Glaswegian DJ Wheelman returns to Dundee and The Rooms tomorrow along with Reckless Kettle resident Fergus Tibbs.

A regular on the Glasgow clubbing scene, Wheelman knows his way around the decks so expect a mix of house, techno, disco, funk, soul, garage and bass.

Gates open at 10.30pm and entry is £5.

The Lawson Brothers play acoustic covers tonight at McDaniels from 9pm.

Tomorrow it’s rock and indie from Buck Rogers at 9.30pm.

Number 57 has its weekly acoustic session tonight at 9pm.

Tomorrow it’s Bedrock in the tea time slot from 5.30pm.

The Junkyard Dogs are in their usual Sunday residency at 7pm.

Georgia Crawl will be at The Neptune Bar in Montrose tomorrow.

The band will be playing a mix of blues, Americana and original songs from 8pm.

Entry is free.

Cherry Bombz are unplugged tonight at Nine Maidens from 8.30pm.

The pop punk group also plays an unplugged set on Sunday at City Royal in Brechin at 3.30pm.

Tonight at The Bank Bar Sinderins’ Dave Webster performs solo from around 9.30pm.

The Broon Troot Orchestra are at the same time tomorrow.

Songwriter­s Sunday is hosted by Gav McGinty and Martin Tino Allan at 8.30pm.

Dave Webster is back on Wednesday for open mic night at 8.30pm.

There’s classic and contempora­ry rock covers from The Intercepto­rs tonight at Clark’s on Lindsay Street.

Tomorrow The DBs play pop gems and rock classics.

Both start at 9.30pm with free entry before midnight.

MacTallica play all the hits from four decades of Metallica at Beat Generator Live tonight.

Tickets are £8 from Groucho’s and Tickets Scotland and doors open at 8pm.

Strings attached are at the Black Abbott in Montrose on Sunday.

The music starts around 4pm and runs until 7pm.

Entry is free.

The live music tonight at the Balgay Bar features the talented Jake Iriving.

The music starts at 8.45pm and entry is free.

MacTallica, Scotland’s best tribute to the legendary Metallica, are at Beat Generator Live! in Dundee tomorrow night, complete with their 12-year-old drummer.

Advance tickets are available from Groucho’s, costing £8 plus booking fee, or from Tickets Scotland.

Doors open at 8pm.

Dundee promoters Make That A Take Records are looking for acts to get in touch to participat­e in the local DIY music community, playing punk, hardcore, indie, emo or whatever, a spokesman for the promoters said.
