Native-bred cattle take to the Stirling sale ring

United Auctions in Stirling sold 1,412 store and native-bred cattle and young bulls and 193 cast cows and forward cattle, as well as 3,797 store, feeding sheep and cast rams.

Bullocks (740) – averaged 219.12p to 271.10ppk for a 332kg BRB from Stuck, and £1,390 for a 660kg CharX from Hoprigshiels.

B&W bullocks (78) – averaged 149.54p to 171.4ppk for a 496kg HF from Creechan Park, and to £970 for a 662kg BFX from Nether Lethame.

Heifers (519) – averaged 212.15p to 270.00ppk for a 426kg LimX from Townhead of Arngibbon, and £1,225 for a 558kg CharX from Low Polquheys.

Young bulls (19) – averaged 196.68p to 243.20ppk for a CharX from Dykes, and £1,520 for a SimX from Coxhill.

Cast cows (155) – averaged 136.49p to 216.70ppk for a SimX from Clydeside, and to £1,430 for a LimX from Back O Muir.

Dairy cows (17) – averaged 96.84p to 177.50ppk for a HFX from Nether Braco, and to £955 for a HFX from Nether Braco.

Forward cattle (three) – averaged 161.54p to 1637.60ppk for a SimX from Mid Auchencarroch, and to £1,170 for a LimX from Newton of Arbirlot.

United Auctions also sold 3797 store and feeding sheep at their annual cast ram and store sale.

Cast rams sold to £95 for Texel rams from Wester Auchencarroch.

Bullocks sold to 248ppkg for a Limousin from Brockwoodlees, and to £1,636 from Learielaw, Broxburn.

Heifers sold to 258ppkg for a Limousin from Knockhouse, and to £1,604 for the same animal.

Dairy cows averaged 96.6p (+7.6p on the week) selling to 117.4p from Muirhead Dairy, and to £850 from the same home.
