HISTORY GROUP North Perthshire Family History Group’s first meeting for 2018 is in Moulin Hall on Thursday at 2.30pm.
Syd House, a retired forester from Perth, will give an illustrated talk on the early Perthshire plant hunters – Archibald Menzies, David Douglas and John Jeffery.
ALYTH
There was a change to the advertised programme for tonight’s meeting of Alyth Literary Society.
Jim and Muriel Smith will now gove a presentation entitled Aspects of JM Barrie.
The meeting starts at 7.30pm in the Ogilvy Rooms, Commercial Street, Alyth, all welcome.
LIPREADING Perthshire Lipreading’s term starts on January 25 at the Rattray Community Connect from noon to 2pm.
Speakers from Deaf Action, Action on Hearing Loss and police liaison officers have already been booked to talk on how their services can help the hard of hearing.

BLAIRGOWRIE
The GP Unit at Blairgowrie Community Hospital has reopened to new admissions after being closed due to a small number of cases of influenza A.
The ward was closed to new patients as a precautionary measure last week.
MUSIC:
A coffee morning will be held at the RDM Institute, Scone, on Saturday from 10-11.30am to raise money for the Perth Symphony Orchestra.
AUCHTERARDER:
A talk on the Order of St John In Scotland will be held at Auchterarder’s Aytoun Hall on Friday from 7.30pm.
The presentation by John Ferguson-Smith was arranged by Auchterarder and District Local History Association.
