Pitlochry and District Adult Learning Association is reaching for the stars with a fourweek course on astronomy.

The taster session with Pamela Foster is one of a variety of courses on offer. The focus will be on practical observing, learning how to navigate around the constellations and how best to observe the planets.

The course starts at Pitlochry High School on Wednesday January 31, 7.30pm to 9pm, and runs for four weeks.

“AEA provides creative learning opportunities for all adults,” said a spokesman.

“Our courses are designed to be recreational, social and fun, with daytime and evening courses to choose from.”

Other courses include fun and fundamentals of drawing with illustrator Dylan Gibson, sewing skills, art club and furniture restoration.

New for 2018 are interior design and the story of spirits which will allow participants to learn a bit more about whisky, gin and rum,

“We rely on a dedicated committee of volunteers to make things happen and we are always open and on the lookout for anyone who has a skill to share and would enjoy tutoring a class,” said the spokesman.

“If you have an idea please get in touch.”
