Man smashed partner’s window

-

A man told his partner “I’ll give you something to phone the polis for” as he smashed a window at her home.

Andrew Irvine and the woman had argued earlier in the evening, resulting in her calling in officers to get the 39-year-old to leave.

Depute fiscal Bill Kermode told the court: “The complainer and the accused had been in a relationship.

“During the evening the accused had been at the locus with a family member and they had consumed alcohol.

“The complainer stated she hated him and an argument occurred.

“She challenged him about items she had recently noticed were missing and she contacted the police.”

Mr Kermode said the woman asked Irvine to leave and he did as he was told.

However, at 5.21am she was wakened by three bangs at the door. The accused was heard saying ‘I’ll give you something to phone the polis for’,” he added.

“She then heard the window being smashed.”

Solicitor Pauline Cullerton, defending, said Irvine claimed the window had been smashed by accident. She added that the couple had rekindled their relationship.

Irvine, of Firhill Road, Perth, admitted damaging the window at a property in Rannoch Road on January 2 this year.

Sheriff Lindsay Foulis fined him £100 and ordered him to pay £100 in compensation.
