Star’s chance for redemption

Mulholland’s runner has ideal opportunity at Chepstow

- The FerreT

IMPULSIVE STAR has let down his supporters twice already this season but should be given a chance to redeem himself in the Daily Racing Specials At 188Bet Novices’ Chase at Chepstow.

Neil Mulholland’s runner was sent off favourite for last year’s Pertemps Final at the Cheltenham Festival but was well beaten and he then suffered disappointment on his chasing bow, falling when in the lead at Catterick.

Returned to that venue on New Year’s Day, Impulsive Star was beaten a head after again trying to make all but he should be able to win a race like this.

GREYED A can bring up a swift hat-trick in the Play Roulette At 188Bet Handicap Chase.

A comfortable winner on both of his last two starts at Fontwell, he did well to survive a bad mistake on the latter occasion and would probably have won by further than five lengths were it not for his blunder.

An 8lb rise is not ideal, but he seems to be firmly on an upward trajectory.

I’M TO BLAME looked a bit green but still managed to win on his debut at Catterick, and he should be a fair bit wiser in the Gerry McGladery Celebrates 50 Standard Open National Hunt Flat Race at Musselburgh.

The meeting is subject to an 8am precautionary inspection.

Clerk of the course Harriet Graham had intended to inspect the track at 3pm yesterday, but an inch of snow which fell earlier in the week has melted.

Graham warned of an “increasing risk of showers overnight, with temperatures dipping to about freezing”.

The going is currently soft. SELECTIONS: CHEPSTOW: 1.05 Scorpion Sid, 1.35 Equus Flight, 2.10 IMPULSIVE STAR (NAP), 2.45 Skewiff, 3.20 Greyed A, 3.50 Finnegan’s Garden.
