‘Raging bull’ assault leads to fine

-

A man who “flew” at his victim like a “raging bull” was fined £240 at Perth Sheriff Court yesterday.

Scott Anderson, 62, of Glenogle Court, Crieff, had been watching television at around 12.15am with members of his family when he suddenly launched an attack on one of them.

Anderson admitted shouting and screaming and lunging at the man on July 9 last year at an address in Burrell Street, Crieff.

He also admitted that he repeatedly punched and kicked a door and threatened people with violence at the same address on July 22 last year.

Meanwhile, a Perth man who is accused of obtaining more than £30,000 in benefits he was not entitled to will stand trial at Perth on May 9.

Graham Bee, 69, of Shields Place, denies a charge that between April 16 2008 and May 10 2015, at Shields Place and Dunkeld Road, both Perth, he obtained pension credit of £28,181.99, to which he was not entitled.

Bee also denies that between November 1 2004 and May 10 2015, he obtained housing benefit of £3,583.95, to which he was not entitled.

He denies a separate charge that having been granted bail at court on July 4 last year, he failed to appear for a hearing on January 4.

Bee’s solicitor said his client had suffered a fall and had been living with his son.

An intermediate diet was set for April 19.
