Sporting improvement for school
A school located on the outskirts of Perth has received funding through an environmental scheme.
Ruthvenfield Primary School has been granted £2,000 from Tesco’s Bags of Help community grant scheme.
The scheme sees grants raised from the sale of carrier bags awarded to thousands of local community projects every year.
Since launching in 2015, Bags of Help is estimated to have provided more than £43 million to more than 10,000 local community projects across the UK.
Ruthvenfield was chosen as one of the recipients.
The primary has been working towards improving the outdoor sports provision for pupils.
Last year the school was able to purchase equipment and install Multi Use Game Area (MUGA) goals through a community grant scheme.
Head teacher Andrew Clark said: “The £2,000 grant funding received this year will allow the completion of this project by adding court markings and making improvements to the playing surface.
‘The grant funding awarded by the community grant scheme will make a real difference to the quality of sports provision for pupils at Ruthvenfield Primary School when the court marking is completed on the MUGA pitch.
“Work will now begin on bringing the project to life.”
Ruthvenfield Primary School currently has 66 pupils.
